Abstract

Multicultural education is an important issue in the increasingly global and diverse modern world. Islam, through the Qur'an, has provided a conceptual basis for diversity and the importance of respecting differences. One of the verses that highlights this is Surah Ar-Rum verse 22. This study aims to examine the concept of multicultural education from the perspective of Ibn Kathir's interpretation of the verse. The research method used is a literature review with a thematic interpretation approach. The results of the study show that according to Ibn Kathir's interpretation, differences in language and skin color are signs of Allah's greatness that must be respected and used as a source of learning. The concept of multicultural education in this verse emphasizes respect for diversity and the importance of cross-cultural communication in building a harmonious civilization.
