PROBLEMATIKA KURIKULUM PENDIDIKAN ISLAM: ANTARA TRADISI DAN INOVASI

The current Islamic education curriculum faces various challenges in responding to the needs of the ever-evolving era without losing the roots of traditional values. This study aims to identify the main problems faced in the Islamic education curriculum and offer integrative solutions that combine traditional values with modern innovations. Using library research methods, this study analyzes various relevant literature to explore the approach, scope, and strategies for curriculum renewal. The results of the study indicate that several main problems include the inconsistency between curriculum content and developments in science and technology, the dominance of conventional approaches in learning, and the low innovative capacity of educators. However, innovation in the Islamic education curriculum is still possible to be implemented without eliminating essential Islamic values, through curriculum integration, utilization of technology, and modernization of learning methods. This study recommends a comprehensive reconstruction of the curriculum, improvement of teacher competence, and strengthening of Islamic values in a context that is relevant to modern life.
