This study aims to explore the factors influencing teacher work motivation within the context of Islamic education and to assess the application of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory in related research. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, this article collects, analyzes, and synthesizes various relevant literatures on teacher work motivation in Islamic education. The two main research questions addressed in this study are: (1) What are the factors that influence teacher work motivation in Islamic education according to the existing literature? and (2) How is Maslow’s theory applied in research on teacher work motivation in Islamic education? The findings indicate that the fulfillment of physiological, safety, social, esteem, and self-actualization needs significantly affects teacher work motivation. Maslow’s theory provides a valuable framework for understanding how fulfilling teachers' needs can enhance teaching quality in Islamic education. This study analyzes 11 relevant articles and offers recommendations for managing teacher work motivation based on Maslow’s theory in the context of Islamic education.
