Multicultural education at the Al Islamiyah Islamic Boarding School in Desa Dalam Kaum, Sambas District is an effort to integrate diversity values into the learning process. This discussion analyzes the application of multicultural education with the approach of the disciplines of Islamic Education, Psychology, and Sociology. The Islamic Education approach emphasizes the importance of teaching that respects cultural and religious differences. In this context, multicultural education functions as a means to instill an attitude of tolerance and mutual respect among students from different backgrounds. The Qur'an and Hadith are the basis for developing these values, where teachings about justice, tolerance, and deliberation are strongly emphasized. From a Psychology perspective, multicultural education at the Al Islamiyah Islamic Boarding School plays a role in shaping the social identity of students. The process of interaction between students from various backgrounds can increase empathy and understanding of differences, which in turn reduces prejudice and discrimination. This is important to create an inclusive and harmonious learning environment. In the study of Sociology, multicultural education in Islamic boarding schools also pays attention to the existing social structure. The implementation of multicultural values not only impacts individuals but also the pesantren community as a whole. By promoting cooperation and communication between different groups, this education contributes to strengthening social solidarity and cohesion in society.
Through this analysis, it can be concluded that multicultural education at the Al Islamiyah Islamic Boarding School, Desa Dalam Kaum, Sambas District, not only functions as a formal education tool, but also as a vehicle for building the character of students who are tolerant and respect diversity.
