Publication Ethics and Misconducts
Publication ethics and errors
TASYRI': Jurnal Tarbiyah-Syari'ah Islamiyah is a peer-reviewed journal. This statement describes the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing articles in this journal as well as allegations of misappropriation of research, including authors, editors-in-chief, the editorial board, peer reviewers, and publishers (Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Ihyaul Ulum). This statement is based on COPE's Best Practice Guidelines for journal editors.
Journal Publication Ethics Guidelines
The publication of an article in the peer-reviewed TASYRI': Jurnal Tarbiyah-Syari'ah Islamiyah is an important building block in the development of a coherent and respected knowledge network. This is a direct reflection of the quality of the author's work and the institutions that support it. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. Therefore, it is important to agree on the standards of ethical behavior expected for all parties involved in the act of publishing: authors, journal editors, peer reviewers, publishers, and the public.
Sekolah Tinggi Agama Islam Ihyaul Ulum Dukun Gresik, as the publisher of TASYRI': Jurnal Tarbiyah-Syari'ah Islamiyah, takes its duties as a trustee over all stages of publishing very seriously, and we are aware of our ethical and other responsibilities. We are committed to ensuring that advertising, reprints, or other commercial revenue does not impact or influence editorial decisions.
Suspected Research Error
Research error means fabrication, forgery, citation manipulation, or plagiarism in producing, conducting, or reviewing research and article writing by the author or in reporting research results. When authors are found to be involved in research errors or other serious irregularities involving articles that have been published in scientific journals, the editor has the responsibility to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the scientific record.
In cases of suspected violations, the editors and editorial board will use COPE best practices to help them resolve complaints and deal fairly with the violations. This will include an investigation into the allegations by the editor. Submitted manuscripts found to contain such errors will be rejected. In cases where a published paper is found to contain such errors, the retraction may be published and will be linked to the original article.
The first step involves determining the validity of the allegations and assessing whether they are consistent with the definition of research error. This initial step also involves determining whether the individual accused of the offense has a relevant conflict of interest.
If a scientific error or the presence of other substantial research irregularities is a possibility, the allegations will be shared with the relevant authors, who, on behalf of all co-authors, are asked to provide a detailed response. Once responses are received and evaluated, additional reviews and the involvement of experts (such as statistical reviewers) can be obtained. For cases where it is unlikely that an error has occurred, clarification, additional analysis, or both, published as a letter to the editor and often including a notice of corrections and corrections to the published article, is sufficient.
Institutions are expected to conduct proper and thorough investigations into suspected scientific misconduct. Ultimately, authors, journals, and institutions have an important obligation to ensure the accuracy of scientific records. By responding appropriately to concerns about scientific errors and taking necessary actions based on evaluation of such concerns, such as correction, retraction by replacement, and retraction, EKSY: Jurnal Ekonomi Syariah will continue to fulfill its responsibility to ensure the validity and integrity of scientific records.
Publication decision
TASYRI': Jurnal Tarbiyah-Syari'ah Islamiyah's editor is responsible for deciding which articles submitted to the journal are to be published. The validation of the work in question and its importance for researchers and readers should always encourage the decision. Editors may be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board and limited by the legal requirements that will then apply regarding defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. The editor may consult with other editors or reviewers in making this decision.
Complaints and appeals
TASYRI': Jurnal Tarbiyah-Syari'ah Islamiyah will have clear procedures in handling complaints against the journal, editor, editorial board, or publisher. The complaint will be clarified to the respected personnel regarding the complaint case. The scope of the complaint includes everything related to the journal's business processes, i.e., editorial processes, manipulation of found citations, unfair editors/reviewers, peer-review manipulation, etc. Complaint cases will be processed in accordance with COPE guidelines.
Fair play
An editor at all times evaluates a manuscript for its intellectual content without regard to the race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, nationality, or political philosophy of the author.
Confidentiality
Any editor and editorial staff may not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the author in question, reviewers, prospective reviewers, other editorial advisors, and publishers, as appropriate.
Disclosure and conflict of interest
Unpublished material disclosed in the submitted manuscript may not be used in the editor's research without the written consent of the author.
Reviewer Duties
Contribution to Editorial decisions
Peer review helps editors in making editorial decisions, and editorial communication with authors can also help authors in improving papers.
Timeliness
Any selected referee who feels ineligible to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that an immediate review is not possible must notify the editor and disengage from the review process.
Confidentiality
Any manuscript accepted for review should be treated as a confidential document. They should not be shown or discussed with others except as permitted by the editor.
Standards Of Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. The referee must clearly express his point of view on the arguments of the supporters.
Source Recognition
Reviewers should identify relevant published works that have not been cited by the author. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument has been previously reported must be accompanied by a relevant citation. Reviewers should also call the editor's attention to any substantial similarities or overlaps between the manuscript under consideration and other published papers they know personally.
Disclosure and conflict of interest
Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review should be kept confidential and not used for personal gain. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts that have a conflict of interest resulting from competition, cooperation, or any other relationship or association with any author, company, or institution associated with the paper.
Duties Of The Author
Reporting standards
The author of the original research report must present an accurate account of the work done as well as an objective discussion of its significance. The underlying data must be accurately represented in the paper. A paper should contain enough details and references to allow others to replicate the work. Statements that are fraudulent or intentionally inaccurate are unethical and unacceptable behavior.
Data access and storage
Authors are required to provide raw data in connection with the paper for editorial review and should be prepared to provide public access to such data, where possible, and should, in any event, be prepared to retain such data for a reasonable time after publication. The author is responsible for the reproducibility of the data.
Originality and plagiarism
Authors should ensure that they have written a completely original work, and if the author has used the work and/or words of others, that this has been appropriately cited or quoted.
Multiple, excessive, or concurrent publications
An author may not, in general, publish a manuscript describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or major publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time is unethical and unacceptable publishing behavior.
Source Recognition
Proper recognition of the work of others should always be given. Authors should cite publications that are influential in determining the nature of the reported work.
Authorship and contribution of articles
Authorship should be restricted to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, implementation, or interpretation of the reported study. All people who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors.
If there are others who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they should be recognized or listed as contributors.
