ALIRAN ESSENSIALISME DAN REKONSTRUKSIONISME SOSIAL DALAM FILSAFAT PENDIDIKAN
Abstract
Penelitian ini mengkaji dua aliran penting dalam filsafat pendidikan, yaitu essensialisme dan rekonstruksionisme sosial. Essensialisme menekankan pentingnya penguasaan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dasar, sementara rekonstruksionisme sosial berfokus pada peran pendidikan dalam mereformasi masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis perbedaan dan persamaan kedua aliran tersebut, serta implikasinya terhadap praktik pendidikan kontemporer. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dengan pendekatan analisis komparatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun kedua aliran memiliki perbedaan mendasar dalam tujuan pendidikan, keduanya sama-sama menekankan pentingnya peran guru dan kurikulum yang terstruktur. Essensialisme cenderung mempertahankan status quo, sementara rekonstruksionisme sosial berupaya mendorong perubahan sosial melalui pendidikan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa sintesis dari kedua aliran dapat memberikan kerangka yang lebih komprehensif untuk menghadapi tantangan pendidikan di era modern.
