PROGRAM MEMBACA AL-QUR’AN MELALUI PEMBELAJARAN MUATAN LOKAL (ILMU TAJWID) DALAM MENINGKATKAN KUALITAS BACAAN AL-QUR’AN SISWA

Abstrak

This study aims to describe the implementation of the Qur’an reading program through the local content subject of Tajweed, identify students’ Qur’an reading quality, and explain the role of the program in improving students’ reading quality at MAS Amaliyah Tanjung Tiga. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method. The research subjects included the Tajweed teacher, students, and school personnel who were familiar with the program’s implementation. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed by selecting important data, organizing the findings, and drawing conclusions. Data validity was examined by comparing the results of observations, interviews, and documentation. The research findings are discussed in three points. 1) The Qur’an reading program is conducted regularly every Monday and Saturday through the delivery of Tajweed materials, demonstrations of correct recitation, turn-taking reading practice, and correction of students’ mistakes by the teacher. 2) Students’ Qur’an reading quality is assessed based on reading fluency, the accuracy of letter articulation points (makharij al-huruf), the correct pronunciation of long and short sounds, and the application of Tajweed rules. Since students have different levels of ability, guidance and practice are needed according to their individual difficulties. 3) The program serves as a means of supporting improvements in students’ Qur’an reading quality through regular practice, teacher guidance, material review, and periodic assessment. The success of the program depends on students’ active participation, independent reading habits, and assessment results that demonstrate progress in their Qur’an reading abilities.
